Welcome to METROPOLIA.

The building […] should be seen as a body but I see it as a metaphor for how the mind works too.” — Sheena Patel, I’m A Fan

I walked slowly among these extraordinary human blooms, reflecting that a city like a human being collects its predispositions, appetites and fears.” — Lawrence Durrell, Justine

METROPOLIA is a modern urban journal. I write from the abyss, from experiences in my work, from the liquid depths of this mirror I turn onto myself. I’ve been told my transparent creative explorations educate and enrich and enlighten my readers.

There is no self without other.

I am Anderson II1: Black writer, Black artist, Black psychotherapist, Black thinker. I like to take pictures of buildings. I explore other people’s minds for a living and pick apart my own for a hobby (here). It’s OK if you don’t relate to me at all. We can learn from each other. Everyone is welcome.

METROPOLIA has some content behind a paywall2. It’s cheap. If my words make your heart skip and your mind reflect, I’d appreciate your extra support.

Thanks for reading.
